Why this exists.
"I've been playing games my whole life, back to the days of the NES and the Game Boy, across just about every genre there is. Making them is newer to me. I have a handful of small, unfinished projects to show for it so far. But I am not new to design. I have spent over fifteen years building websites and digital products, and I care a great deal about craft: systems, mechanics, writing, interfaces that respect the people using them.
Falling for game design has been a joy. Finding people to make games with has not. The places you are supposed to connect are buried forums and flat feeds, with no real way to reach anyone and no sense of who is actually making things. The wider the net gets, the more it fills with generated art, asset-flips, vague rev-share fog, and games that do not respect themselves or their players.
I do not accept that, so I built somewhere better. Gamewrights Guild is a small, deliberate place for people who still want to make games by hand, with other humans. Developers post what they are working on and the roles they need. Makers find projects worth their time. It exists to protect the parts of this craft that matter, and to help the right people find each other. If that is you, this is for you."
